Copilot agent mode in Visual Studio is getting a major upgrade. We've rebuilt it on the GitHub Copilot SDK, the same engine that powers the Copilot CLI, bringing a better Copilot experience natively into the Visual Studio IDE. This session is a behind-the-scenes look at that change: what a harness really is and why it matters more than most people realize, how we know the new one is better, and what it unlocks for the way you work every day.

You'll also see how agents can help with your day-to-day work. We'll put the agent and its sub-agents to work exploring and understanding a real codebase, then fix a bug from end to end, and capture the whole session as a reusable skill your team can run again.

You will learn:

  • What's new in Visual Studio's agent mode, and why it's a real upgrade
  • How to put agents to work on real tasks, from exploring a codebase to fixing bugs end to end
  • Real examples from the Visual Studio team on using agent mode effectively
