Modern systems rarely consist of a single synchronous application. As systems grow, more work needs to happen outside the original request. In this session, you will learn how to design event driven solutions on Azure by walking through several real-world patterns. We will start with a traditional API and evolve it using messaging, background processing, and data change triggers. Examples will include API initiated workflows, Azure Service Bus messaging, and Cosmos DB triggered processing. The focus is on architectural decision making and understanding when event driven approaches simplify systems and improve scalability and resilience.
You will learn:
- When synchronous APIs stop being the right place to do the work
- Different types of events including messages, data changes, and scheduled triggers
- How to apply event driven patterns to build scalable and resilient solutions on Azure
