The Visual Studio Live! Las Vegas Conference is proud to announce its alliance with Veterans Village Las Vegas as its first "VSLive! Gives Back" partner.

Serving Those Who Have Served with Respect & Dignity

Veterans Village is a transitional and permanent housing residence for United States Veterans and is operated 24/7 by SHARE, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.

Veterans Village is dedicated to the creation of an environment that is home to United States Veterans. This is a unique and innovative approach to holistic and comprehensive housing with 24/7/365 crisis intervention center intensive support services. Public and private collaborative partnerships have been created to provide supplies and services to residents including housing, medical and mental health services, employment training, referrals and placements, food pantry/nutrition programs and transportation to the VA Hospital and primary care clinics.

How You Can Help

Conference participants are invited to donate in-kind donations that directly benefit veterans, veteran families, programs, events and operations at Veterans Village. Here is a list of in-kind donations items from Veterans Village:

Helpful Items:

• New or used laptops
• Gas gift cards

Personal Care Items:

• Hand soap
• Laundry and dish detergent
• Cleaning products
• Shampoo
• Toothbrushes and toothpaste
• Shaving cream
• Razors
• Deodorant
• Feminine hygiene products

Food:

• Protein Foods: Meat, Poultry, Fish, Dry Beans, and Nuts
• Grains: Bread, Cereal, Rice, and Pasta

Paper Products:

• Toilet paper
• Paper towels
• Napkins
• Tissues

Look for the Give Back donation box sign near the Visual Studio Live! Las Vegas registration desk, or ask a staff member how you can help.

VSLive! Conference Bag Donation

Visual Studio Live! provides bags to all attendees to carry laptops, notepads, pens, and other pertinent items around while you are at the conference. The bags can also serve as useful souvenirs to take back home or to the office to remind you about the great conference you just attended. But not everyone needs a new backpack.

If you don’t need a new bag (or don’t want to take the bag home after using it for the week) and prefer it gets donated to a good cause, you can place your bag in the Give Back Box and your conference bag will be donated to Veterans Village Las Vegas.
