    With last year’s release of Windows 8.1, adoption of the Windows Runtime (WinRT) is underway. Are you ready to build apps for this new platform? Modern Windows Store apps take advantage of key WinRT features such as Live Tiles, the Charms bar, and push notifications. They are almost certainly integrated with cloud and social services, providing users with experiences that were previously prohibitively difficult to implement. Perhaps more important, these apps run on tablets, ultrabooks, laptops, and desktops so they are available to users almost everywhere. Apps for WinRT can be written with HTML and JavaScript, or XAML and C#/VB .NET, among other options. At Visual Studio Live!
