In a lot of workshops, when you learn multiple technologies, you learn them in layers. Data Access, Web Services, etc. This is because it keeps the class focused and helps teachers and attendees. However, when you get back to your job, you realize that is not a productive way to develop applications. In this 4-day, hands-on training seminar, we will work in vertical slices, developing an ASP.NET Core web application, ASP.NET Core web services, and an ASP.NET Core based Azure function to create a fictional car dealer suite of applications.
We will start by discussing the principles of agile and Scrum, configure an Azure DevOps process template, learn the fundamentals of ASP.NET Core, EF Core, and Azure DevOps. The rest of the time will be spent building applications, one slice and one story at a time. Throughout our 4-day adventure together, you will learn about repo policies, automated builds and releases, data access with EF Core/SQL Server, RESTful web services, RESTful Azure Functions and times functions, and of course, ASP.NET Core web applications.
You will learn:
- About Azure DevOps process templates and how to track work with stories and epics
- How to build ASP.NET Core Web Applications
- How to build ASP.NET Core RESTful services
- How to build Azure Functions with ASP.NET Core
- How to build a data access layer with Entity Framework Core
- How to automate builds and deployment pipelines
In short, you will learn what you need to know to do your job as a development team.
