In this session, you'll see steps for discovering and evaluating public APIs, and also learn how you can consume these APIs, both from a web application context, as well as from a Windows Store app using HTML and JavaScript.

The computing world is rapidly growing, and one of the fastest areas of growth is in publicly-available APIs. These APIs can offer data, access to service functionality, and more, and many of them are available free of charge, including an increasing number of government data sources.

Leveraging publicly-available APIs can help you add value to your existing web properties, and/or quickly build apps with value to potential customers. In this session, you'll see steps for discovering and evaluating public APIs, and also learn how you can consume these APIs, both from a web application context, as well as from a Windows Store app using HTML and JavaScript.
