Microsoft has greatly enhanced Team Foundation Server 2010 and the supporting Visual Studio 2010 family to help you build better software, faster and with higher quality. In this all day workshop, you’ll learn how to get off the ground quickly, learn what to watch out for, and see the real value in these new releases. You'll first get a crash course in defining your TFS topology and what Visual Studio 2010 products your team really needs including features only found in the Power Tools as well as the tools for non-Windows developers. You'll then learn how to get a project off the ground using the Agile process template. You'll then see how to use the various tools related to better development like the profiler and IntelliTrace help developers. You'll learn about how the new architecture tools are not just for architects but can help everyone visualize your solutions. You'll learn how the new project management features help everyone on the team know how things are going. You’ll see how features like Gated Check-in and Test Impact Analysis reduce build breaks and help developers be more productive. By the end of the workshop, you’ll want to run back to work and start using TFS 2010 and Visual Studio 2010 for your own projects.

You will learn:

  • Why you’ll want to upgrade or move to TFS 2010
  • What features in Visual Studio 2010 are really worth paying for
  • How to build better software using an Agile methodology with TFS 2010
