This workshop is not technology specific and is useful to development teams working with any modern user interface technology stack.

In the modern apps era, good design is no longer optional. However, dedicated, professional designers are scarce, expensive, and don’t know the business domain. This workshop helps developers, analysts, and other team members step in and embrace design responsibilities. Starting with basic principles founded in human cognition, attendees will learn concepts and vocabulary to evaluate designs. Then options for creating designs will help teams construct their own design process. Finally, patterns of user interaction will present a checklist of design ideas to bootstrap idea generation. The workshop features lecture alternated with interactive exercises. It is not technology specific, and is useful to development teams working with any modern user interface technology stack.

You will learn:

  • Learn design principles that stem from the way the human brain works
  • Learn options for constructing your own team’s user experience design process
  • Understand a checklist of navigation and interaction patterns for designing user experiences
