Microsoft has been working on speech recognition for decades. Their speech APIs are very good, but haven't seen much adoption in consumer applications. Recently however, Apple introduced Siri to the world and showed everyone that voice control makes for a nice hands-free experience. Learn how to add voice control to your Windows Phone app through the Speech API in this session.

You will learn:

  • Adding custom vocabularies to the speech engine
  • How to listen to the voice command and translate it to an app action
  • How to talk back to the user with the synthesis engine
