Visual Studio LightSwitch is Microsoft's new toolkit that makes Line-of-Business (LOB) application development significantly easier.   But while it requires little code for the tedious plumbing and UI tasks around data access, LightSwitch is actually highly customizable and extensible using full-fledged .NET code.  It’s is a sensible tool for sensible .NET developers.

This session will cover the basics of LightSwitch and point out its extensibility points.  You’ll see how LightSwitch data models, screens, security and extensions make short work of tedious programming, using mainstream .NET technology.  You’ll also see how enterprise and departmental developers can collaborate using LightSwitch, enabling LOB apps to be built where they’re needed, using responsible technology, under common-sense IT governance.
