Level: Introductory to Intermediate
As a modern app platform, Windows 8 raises the bar on the need for compelling and intuitive designs. However, the principles to create such apps are not new. Most of them are just a consequence of the way our brains, eyes, and bodies work. Previous UI stacks didn't give enough scope to worry about that, but now even developers are expected to know the basics of creating better user experiences. Come get your introduction to the most fundamental and useful design principles. For each principles, you'll see the conceptual explanation plus an illustrative example taken from Windows 8 apps. Even if you aren't producing Windows 8 apps yet, this session will give you useful ideas for your current application platform.
