In recent months we have seen Windows Azure officially embrace notorious open source technologies such as NodeJS, Hadoop, Solr, Memcache or MongoDB. With these model, developers can now use these powerful open source technology while taking advantage of the elastic, resilient, manageable and scalable capabilities of the Windows Azure platform.


This session will illustrate a series of real world applications that leverage a series of open source technologies hosted in the Windows Azure platform. Specifically, the session will highlight best practices and techniques to leverage technologies such as NodeJS, Hadoop, MongoDB, Solr or Memcache as part of your Windows Azure applications. Additionally, we showcase the patterns developers that will help developers to provision and configure other open source technologies in your Windows Azure environment.
